1. What we collect, and why

When you request a scan: your name, email address, city/state, the fact and timestamp of your consent, and the IP address the request came from. We use exactly this to run your exposure scan, deliver your report by email, and keep the consent record our compliance obligations require. Nothing else is collected - no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, no third-party scripts on this site.

2. How long we keep it

Scan requests and reports are deleted from our systems 30 days after you submit them - automatically, on a schedule, for the database and our archives alike. If you become a paying client, your dossier is kept for as long as you are a client and deleted when you leave (you may request deletion sooner at any time via our contact page).

3. Who we investigate

Only you. Every scan requires your consent as the subject (or a documented authorized representative). We never investigate third parties - no "find my ex", no employment screening, no tenant or credit checks. QuietName is not a consumer-reporting agency, and our reports may not be used for employment, tenancy, or credit decisions (FCRA).

4. Where your data lives and how it is protected

Scan records are stored encrypted in transit and at rest on infrastructure we operate ourselves, with AWS used only for email delivery and encrypted archive storage under least-privilege access keys. Access is limited to the operators of the service. We do not sell, rent, share, or "enrich" your data with anyone - your data is never our product.

5. Email

Transactional email (scan confirmation, reports) is sent through Amazon SES from our own domain. You will never receive marketing email from us unless you asked for a scan or became a client. Every operational email we send includes a way to reach a human.

6. Your choices

You may ask us at any time to delete your data, correct it, or tell you what we hold. Use the contact page - these requests are handled by a person, not a form queue. If you are in the EU/EEA or California, this policy is written to be readable rather than exhaustive; contact us and we will honor data-subject requests regardless of where you live.

7. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes affecting existing clients are announced by email before they take effect.
